Institutional Ethical Committee (IEC), CDCRI look after that all research carried out at or on behalf of the University, by staff and students, whether it is conducted to the highest level of ethical standards and in accordance with current legislation and policy requirements.

The IEC protect the dignity, rights, safety and well-being of research participants; the safety and reputation of researchers; the reputation of college & the University. It ensures that researches carried out in connection with the University are lawful; it also manages and mitigates the risks arising from research; and ensures ethical awareness is embedded across all faculties & students.

All the research proposals whether involving human subjects or not has been reviewed by IEC before its conduction, and IEC also have a continuing responsibility to regularly monitor the approved research to ensure ethical compliance during the conduct of research.

The investigators are advised to submit the research proposal in a prescribed Performa as mentioned in Standard Operating Protocol.

The Institutional Ethical Committee conduct timely critical appraisal of synopsis submitted to it. After the submission of research proposal, it is evaluated in terms of risk benefit output, ethical considerations The Members of Institutional Ethicalcommittee scrutinizes the research proposals in the meetings and provides its final approval; followed by granting IEC approval letter.
