Welcome to the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute. Since the establishment of our institution in 2002, the department has remained committed to excellence in patient care, clinical training, and academic advancement. The postgraduate program was established in 2010, marking a significant milestone in our pursuit of specialized education and advanced clinical training. The department serves as a centre for comprehensive orthodontic care, specializing in the diagnosis, prevention, interception, and correction of malocclusion and dentofacial discrepancies. Through evidence-based clinical practice, innovative teaching methodologies, and research-oriented education, we strive to provide high-quality patient care while training future orthodontists to become competent clinicians, researchers, and academicians.

The mission of our department is to advance the oral health and quality of life of patients through specialized care, education, and research. It focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of mal-aligned teeth and jaw irregularities, aiming to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

State-of-the-Art Infrastructure

The Department is equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced technologies that support excellence in patient care, clinical training, and academic activities. The department comprises dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate clinics, a preclinical laboratory, seminar room, departmental library, sterilization room, faculty room, postgraduate common room, and a patient-friendly waiting area. The departmental laboratory is equipped with essential orthodontic laboratory facilitiesfor the fabrication and processing of orthodontic appliances. Advanced diagnostic and treatment planning facilities include NemoCeph™ software for digital cephalometric analysis and Ministar™Thermoforming unit for appliance fabrication. In 2025, the department further enhanced its digital orthodontic services with the introduction of an iTero™Intraoral Scanner and Clear Aligner Therapy. In addition to contemporary fixed orthodontic treatment modalities, the department provides comprehensive myofunctional therapy and dentofacial orthopaedic treatment, ensuring holistic and patient-centered orthodontic care.
