Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology is the very first department where a patient visits. Patient undergoes thorough screening of oral and paraoral structures and general health, necessary investigation including radiographs, FNAC and biopsy is carried out and then diagnosed and referred to other departments for appropriate treatment.

The undergraduate and postgraduate sections are spacious and fully equipped. Here the students are taught to examine and diagnose the dental problems under able guidance of teaching faculty.

The Radiology section is equipped with conventional as well as advanced imaging modalities. It includes conventional Intra-oral X-ray machine, OPG and general body X-ray machine. Digital section has RVG and an advanced OPG machine with printer. Cancer detection and biopsy room has been established for screening and early diagnosis of oral cancer.

Academic activities by under graduate and post-graduate students are carried out on a regular basis using audio-visual facility in the seminar room. The students have also won prizes in paper and poster presentations in national conferences.

The Department is dedicated towards carrying out various research activities, publishing and organizing state as well as national level scientific programmes to promote education and dental health care.

Through Graduate and Postgraduate programs, the faculty is committed to educate Dental Professionals who will provide excellent patient care and carry research that can be applied to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral diseases.
