The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology is the first point of contact for patients seeking dental care and plays a vital role in the diagnosis and management of oral and maxillofacial diseases. Patients undergo comprehensive clinical examination of the oral and paraoral structures, supported by diagnostic investigations such as radiographs, FNAC, and biopsy. Based on the diagnosis, they are referred to the appropriate specialty departments for definitive treatment.
The department offers well-equipped undergraduate and postgraduate clinics, providing students with hands-on clinical training under the guidance of experienced faculty. The Radiology Division is equipped with conventional and digital imaging facilities, including intraoral X-ray, RVG, OPG, and a dedicated Oral Cancer Screening and Biopsy Unit for early detection of oral diseases.
