A program on Anti Ragging awarerness program was successfully conducted at CDCRI Rajnandgaon on 7th July 2023. The program was organised by Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology in auditorium between 11:00 to 2:00 pm for BDS students. Dr. Nidarsh Hegde Principal, Dental college JNIMS Imphal and member of DCI was the chief guest of the program. The main objective of the program was to make the students aware about ragging and its consequences. First to third year students were part of this program.
The programme commenced withlamp lightening and Saraswati Vandana followed by formal welcome of the Guest Speaker Dr. Nidarsh D. Hegde sir. Dean madam expressed her gratitude to the esteemed guest for accepting request.
Dr. Nidarsh D. Hegde started the awareness session by defining ragging as stated by the Honourable Supreme Court of India and Raghavan Committee. He highlighted the Honourable Supreme Court’s Guidelines to be followed by universities, colleges and educational institutes to curb ragging.
He also reiterated that anyone who is actively or passively, or is a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished. He informed about the various consequences which can be faced by the students if found guilty of ragging. He also explained regarding the IPC sections related to ragging. He also mentioned the helpline numbers. He praised the institution authorities for keeping up a good vigil against ragging as no untoward incident of ragging has been reported in the past.
